I understand the resistance to using the Reports + cost report over the Classic cost report but here are the advantages of this report:

  1. It will show all cost types (this is difficult to do in the Classic)
  2. New subtotals work (they won’t work on the Classic)
  3. Scrolling works
  4. Great export options
  5. Many display options

I found removing the shading really goes a long way to making it easier on the eyes. You can uncheck the shading option and then save it as shown below:

Each user who wants this default will have to save it. Below is how the report will look.  It will save ink also.  I suggest converting to this report as over time you will get use to it and I think the advantages outweigh the report’s readability issues. If more users would use this report maybe we can all come to a consensus on how to improve it. In the meantime make it more readable by removing the shading and try it out.
