His beginner course is approximately 45 minutes long and broken up into three sections: Learning Construction Estimating, Construction Estimating Takeoff, and Construction Estimating Extension. <br>Overall the course was extremely well put together with great quality video and sound work. Unfortunately, the meat of the show, the actual explanation of estimating, was a bit shallow. <br>The courses dove headfirst into explaining how estimators calculate materials from a blueprint, fill out a take-off sheet and turned that into an estimate that could be submitted. It never went beyond the basic excel-sheet-old-school style of estimating, but I can see how a beginner course would find it difficult to explain estimating with a complex program like <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/heavybid.ewksol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-1-1024x513.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2143\" width=\"246\" height=\"122\" srcset=\"https:\/\/heavybid.ewksol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-1-1024x513.png 1024w, https:\/\/heavybid.ewksol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-1-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/heavybid.ewksol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-1-768x384.png 768w, https:\/\/heavybid.ewksol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/image-1.png 1746w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 246px) 100vw, 246px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HeavyBid. <br>Someone would not be able to take this course and immediately start estimating, but this course does provide a decent overview that could give someone a basic idea of what would be required of them on the job. <br>If you have access to LinkedIn learning or any web course site, I recommend watching it and seeing if you learn anything new.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>*Written by my son and employee whom I refer to as Minion (William Nix).
