Attendees for HeavyBid Training – Some Thoughts

I am sometimes asked who should attend the HeavyBid training sessions? Some companies want to have everyone who could remotely be associated with HeavyBid to attend the training. The problem with this approach is that I have to teach estimating concepts along with HeavyBid thus slowing down the pace of the training. A better approach is focus the training on the group who are the estimators and the estimating managers. HeavyBid is designed around the needs of a professional estimator and these (the core) should be trained first. If an introduction is needed to project managers and superintendents it is better done in a separate 2 to 4 hour training session that is tailored to what they need to know. The same holds true for company management. If a person is not going to be regularly using HeavyBid there is no need for them to go through an entire training. So consider carefully who you want to attend the initial HeavyBid training to really maximize your training investment. Feel free to call me to discuss an optimum training plan for your company.
