Pretend for a minute that you are a CEO of a large company (and maybe you are) with a company jet. One day you join the pilot in the co-pilots seat and begin asking him questions about all the various switches and knobs and their function. Here is the conversation:

You: What does this group of toggle switches do?

Pilot: I don’t know. The pilot who trained me said don’t worry about them.

You: How about this bank of knobs?

Pilot: Never knew what they do either. The pilot didn’t who trained me didn’t know either.

You:  So you were trained by a pilot who didn’t have complete training?

Pilot: Yep. When the company hired us, we were given a quick rundown of the plane and told good luck. No need to get bogged down in all the details of switches and knobs. Keep it simple you know.

You:  Oh…

My point is as a software trainer it is not unusual that people who have used HeavyBid software for many years have incorrect assumptions that can affect the accuracy of their estimates. When estimators don’t receive formal training, estimators just pass on a portion what they know about HeavyBid to another estimator, the conceptual errors get compounded and time saving features of HeavyBid get left behind. There is absolutely no substitute for HeavyBid training.

Contact me about receiving in-depth training tailored to your estimating department and further review your HeavyBid implementation.
