I have a confession here. Just about all my blogs pretty much target Advanced and Comprehensive versions of HeavyBid. In fact, I use to have a healthy dislike for the Basic Version until I was put on a salesperson’s hat. It was at the recent ConExpo and I was working with our HCSS sales group in one of the two booths. We were slammed with people and most wanted pricing and the price was a major part of the decision criteria. I remember it well – I sized up the contractor asking me the price and knew I had to quote the Basic version to keep his interest. The basic version fit his business better than any other version.

It just so happens John Cappello overheard me and made the comment something to the effect that I had made peace with the Basic version, knowing my prejudice against it. Yep I was caught red-handed. Put into our salesperson’s shoes put an entirely different perspective on the Basic Version. Will I change my blog? No, but I won’t be so adamantly opposed to it. HCSS salespeople are the best out there in my opinion and thanks to ConExpo and John I learned my lesson. Now the good news is in HeavyBid Version 2020.2 the Basic version has access to Insights, Production History and Estimate History.
