Companies are always looking for the all in one solution and software companies are all too willing to offer this product. Just think if someone drove up to your construction site with one piece of equipment that according to the salesman could replace all your equipment. You know there is no way one piece could perform well in all circumstances.  Software is the same. I use a variety of software in my workflow because not one software does all things well. Accounting software companies continue to offer the “all in one” solution trying to integrate estimating, project management, scheduling and accounting.  The result are usually frustrated users (other than the accounting department). A better solution is to select the best software packages that work for you and make sure they can talk to one another. For example HeavyBid can export to about any accounting program. Same with HeavyJob. Both of these products are superior (in my opinion) to anything in the workplace and they integrate well with accounting software.  So go with the better solution and reject the “all in one” software that the marketplace is offering.
