Joint Venture teams usually have the material in the local codebook but if an estimator goes to look for a material HeavyBid will look as a default at the System Wide Codebook. If an estimator is not careful they can use the wrong list of material (not the JV list) and create a lot of work for someone prior to the joint venture first reading. So for certain estimates, the default should be the Local Codebook. HeavyBid has a solution – just set the preference to look at the Local Codebook. Go to TOOLS>PREFERENCES>ESTIMATE>ESTIMATE ENTRY and click on the option “Local Material/Other Resources”. Idea – include this as part of the Joint Venture instructions.
