Holding Accounts & Self Perform Work

This is one of those blogs that probably most estimators using HeavyBid won’t know what I am talking about but there are those users that setup Self Perform work with Holding Account activities. So if the sub is selected more than likely the holding account activity should be turned off and vice versa. But there is a setting in the Holding Account setup that has to be changed for the Self Perform screen to see the holding account activity. The Holding Account has to be set up to be “Unit Cost” instead of “Total“. What this does is spreads per the unit cost of the Holding Account. Once you have set this to unit the Self Perform screen will see the Holding Account. Not using Holding Accounts? A very useful tool especially for large estimates where you can get lost in the weeds so to speak with common costs that occur throughout the estimate.
