The automatic backup was a great feature added many years ago in HeavyBid that can potentially save a disaster from happening. When an estimator changes estimates, exits HeavyBid, or makes uses certain Edit functions HeavyBid makes an automatic backup. Unfortunately in the default setting that HCSS sends out in the install the default days that the backup will be saved is 3 days. If you discover that you want to restore a backup over 3 days old it will be gone as HeavyBid deletes these backups. One of the first thing I do in my trainings is to change the setting to 30 days. Hard drive space is rarely the issue these days. You never know how having that backup will save the day. See below how in TOOLS>PREFERENCES>SYSTEM this setting can be changed.
