There are times that the overtime calculation does not calculate the desired result so there is an option to override the calendar. This works well except when you have specific crafts with different work rules. For example if you create an all overtime calendar like below with a 150% override

Override Calendar

the overtime % factor for all labor with an OT calendar will be 150% even if you had another work rule as an override in the labor setup. (Note I have not tested this for comprehensive work rule setup). So if you have work rule overrides setup in labor it is best not to set an override premium to prevent the override rules from working. Case in point is the 4 shift 10 hour day which in HeavyBid will calculate to an overtime premium of 110% for a work rule of 1-1/2 over 8 hours. To force this calendar to be all straight time you will have to check the Use Override Premium box and let the premium be 100% or no overtime. Why this usually works is the 4-10 hour days for a non-union company is usually straight time and this applies to everyone.  Conclusion: in a union labor setup with variable work rules (using the simple setup) be careful using the Override Premium option.
