The last and perhaps the one of the least utilized of the comprehensive features is the  Equipment Biditem. I say least utilized because estimators don’t know of this feature and how easy it is to setup. Issue with the normal approach to using equipment in a crew is that the estimator doesn’t know if they have accounted for the true rental of that piece over a set time period. For example it is difficult without manual manipulations to set up a crane with hourly rental to total up to a year of rental time in the estimate. And then there is all the associated costs with the crane like mobe, demobe, rigging replacement, certifications and the list goes on. With the Equipment Biditem these costs can be all captured with multiple activities and then allocated back to the estimate where the crane is setup (EOE only). Now every equipment piece should not be setup as a biditem but if you regularly have large complex equipment like cranes (or cranes on barges) then the equipment biditem is ideal.
