If there is one underused or ignored feature in HeavyBid it is the Biditem Codebook. Of course if you are a DOT type contractor this is a huge time saver but it also is valuable for county, city and even private work. Typically if a company has the Codebook setup and imports in a DOT estimate they can have 80% to even 90% of the estimate completed or at least ready to modify. This could equate to a cost savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars a year when you consider the cost to do an estimate. Eliminate the drudgery work and concentrate on getting good sub and material quotes. I recently spend two days training a company during the training we imported in the DOT items and match for now just the activities for all subcontract items. We then imported in a DOT estimate and did the merge and HeavyBid populated all the items that will be subcontracted out. Then of course we had already setup the System Wide Quote Folders so in the Quote System the subcontract folders with a click of a button was brought in with the resources already populated. And we accomplished all this in a regular two day training!
