Equipment Rate Calculations by USACE
The Army Corps has a pretty good methodology in calculating equipment rates. While the intent of their manuals is for purposes of determining costs for change orders it does give a good basis of calculations for any contractor even if they don’t do Corp’s projects. If you own equipment there has to be a calculation for each major piece that will drive what the internal rate will be. There are rates for many pieces of equipment but the manuals have not been updated since 2016. But you can apply an escalation factor and it will be close or at least a lot closer than guessing.
